Update on Fitz: He’s doing great!

Update on Fitz: He’s doing great! The great news is we can already tell a difference in his speech. His pronunciation is much better now. He will still need intense speech therapy to learn how to use his new tongue but he’s going in the right direction. This has been a huge relief for me and my husband…. And Fitz. Looking back(when he was a baby) there were a lot of signs and indications that he was tongue tied but unfortunately those signs were missed by the therapist and doctors. The only way you could tell he was tongue tied is if he sticks his tongue out a certain way so for years we thought he had a severe speech delay. we had no idea his speech delay was because of his tongue. It’s so important for us mothers to always listen to our gut and mom intuition. Fitzgerald always has so much to say but we never could understand what he was saying. We thought he would eventually grow out of it but as time went on he never did. As his mother I feel guilty at times for not realizing and noticing it sooner. I remember when he was 3 years old and he was trying to telling us something and he couldn’t…. Ugh it was heartbreaking. I’m so grateful we found the issue and corrected it. I’m happy for him and I can’t wait to see his speech blossom!!
