HELP!! I know this isn’t house related but I’m desperate and this group has been very knowledgeable and helpful in the past.

Long story short, my grandfather is a veteran and he served in two wars. He earned a number of metals and he saved them in his footlocker for his grandkids. Recently, His house flooded and everything was destroyed including his metals. Can anyone tell me how to restore them or clean them? I’m desperate and would appreciate any advise.
